| Leprechaun's Leap Class: Original piano composition Published: 1940. Comment: Dedicated to Stanford Robinson, who was, for many years, conductor of the BBC Concert Orchestra. This is a 'one-off' in Billy's output, there being nothing else quite like it. As the title suggests, it has an Irish flavour, and much of its two melodies suggest the style of a village band. Some rest is provided from the relentless jigging by a pui lento section with a beautiful melody still in the same folk mood. |
